I want to reply to one and tell it to go cook its head with a steam iron...ok what i want to say is a lot ruder than that but....what happens when you reply?
What happens when you reply to a spam email...?
Yeah, I know what you mean. It's very tempting to tell those people off. Unfortunately, everybody else who has answered is correct, I can add you should not even open the email, just delete the garbage. If you even open the letter, It will just open up the gates of hell for the spam to flow.
ps.What you can do to control the spam a bit is by going into the "OPTIONS" section in your mail box, then click "FILTERS". This gives you a way of stopping the spam by blocking emails with certain key words for instance. I block anything with the word lottery in the subject. You can put up to 15 filters on the normal Yahoo, it works pretty well..
Reply:they know your e-mail is ''active'' and just spam you more and then sell it to others for more spam.Just leave it in your spam box and it should be deleted in a week.
Reply:Repliying to spam will open the flood gates,Just delete it.
Reply:i did that to some bogus person asking for money and yes ...i got more back ..best to delete them hun ...but if u want a rant have one !! x
Reply:not sure that anything happens...its just to make you feel better rather than feeling sorry for these bl oody idiots that have nout better to do with their days than ruin ours. They are to be pittied...R soles
I had two from Nigeria once in the same day. First was to say I had won a lottery, millions rather than just 拢's. Obviously checking that I couldnt spend it straight away, they sent another one to say that I had ordered some construction work to be done, and they had now completed, and could i pay.
So I sent back %26amp; said, basically, ''look, just pay the construction bill out of the lottery winnings, give the rest to a charity of your choice and fuddle off and leave me alone, you morons!''
Nothing happened. They didnt even reply to thank me for my generosity to their chosen charity fund...
Dontchya think thats mean??
Reply:Delete.
Reply:i thought laws were enacted to stop spam - so why aren't they enforced?
i think i need to ban anything with "buddy or buddies" not to mention those obnoxious penal things and banks and credit scores - ick ick ick
Reply:Nice idea, but you are confirming that yours is an active email addy - so you will probably get increased spam!!
Reply:Don't open them it's not a good idea at all...
Reply:Replying to a spam e-mail is a bad idea for 2 reasons
Most use a send address just once to send a batch of junk then move on to a new address. This is to avoid being traced.
In the event that your reply does reach them, it only proves that you exist and your e-mail address reaches a live person. They then sell your address to 10,000 more spammers
