I recieve these stock investing tips on different companies and what not, and they are pilining up.. at least 5 a day. How do I stop them from sending me this trash?
How do I stop spam from piling up in my email?
block their address..
go to options
click block addresses
then block the address
you can also spam them and that will help too
Reply:I get all kinds of wierd spam emails! All I do is mark them as spam as I get them and I dont see them back in my inbox, although they are getting hip to the game and using other email address's to send the same mess! I just keep marking them as spam. Or if your bold enough click into one of them and "unsubscribe" yourself from their mailing list. I dont advise that though due to viruses! Hope this helped!
Reply:Send them a reply e-mail asking them to stop, otherwise call the company and ask. And for the future, in case you need to get a new address, don't ever click the little box that reads 'YES! Send me information on updates, and news from such and such ....' when you order something online (especially if its free). OR- you could keep two separate accounts: 1. for business and personal, and 2. for spam (give them a place to send something, and just go in and delete everything once in awhile).
Reply:Hey TLC mentioned unsubscribing to unknown emails, well if you read into SPAM in your email you will see that they state that it is not wise to unsubscribe, or even open unknown emails since it confirms to them that you are a valid email and will continue sending stuff and even get others to email you junk. So I suggest you not do it. As for your question, I agree with TLC, just click as spam or put your spamguard on and it will automatically decide what is spam and what is not for you and send it to your bulk folder. Whatever isnt spam you just click as "Not Spam". Hope this helped.
Reply:I understand what you are going thru with all the spam in the financial department. I too click on a lot of sites for financial info. Then i get all kinds of emails from each of them. I do not even open the unsolicited emails, just clicking on them and then "spam". yahoo claims they have spam protection, no such thing. I get them from smartmoney dot com, cramer, etc. It's just something I've dealt with for years and have no prospects of yahoo ever doing anything constructive about the financial spam emails. some of the info is good enough to counter the aggravation so i continue the path I've always been on. good luck to you. tyja
