How do i mark an email as spam, permanently?

when i check a box and delete an email as spam, i would not like to receive an email from this sender again. but yahoo continues to deliver email from the sender. is there a way to mark the sender as spam and not receive email from that sender again?

Yes. Click the Spam button on the navigation bar of your inbox. Future messages from the sender will end up in the spam folder. The folder will automatically delete the messages after a certain period of time. Don't unsubscribe mail from the sender because this will confirm to them it's an active email address.
