Is it possible for a spam email to give me a virus or keylogger or w/e else just from opening it?

My sister has access to my email account and ive told her not to open any emails but you know that sisters can be curious sometimes, especially with the harmless titles of spam letters "good day" etc.. so is it possible?

I have Yahoo mail..

Is it possible for a spam email to give me a virus or keylogger or w/e else just from opening it?
There are three ways to be infected from opening an email:

1) when you open the email, if it has an "iframe", that will activate a virus.

2) when you open an email, if it has an attachment and you click on it, that can activate a virus.

3) when you open an email like I just got purporting to have a link to a card, or eBay, or something else so you can update your information, that can take you to a website that will attack your system.

Your sister may have accessed a hacker website from an email and not told you she did so.

Reply:Absolutely. That's how they work. Get an EMail scanner.
Reply:Of course this is how they send some of them run your antivirus and spy ware programs to check and see if they are their about keloggers that i don;t know about!Good luck!
Reply:It is possible.. though I personally haven't heard of anything happening. I'd do a spam/virus check on your computer just to be on the safe side.
