My email address is being used to send spam mail?

spam mail is coming from my own email address, my provider told me just to delete it. Can some explain to me how to stop them using my email address.

Try changing your password before you delete it. By doing that it may stop. Some one has "phished" your password and you should just be able to change it and it be okay.
Reply:Unfortunately there is currently no rules about protecting an address to be used as a from.





It is very easy to fake a from address in your email program and make it look like it is coming from anyone. You don't have to hack into another's email account to send an email (only to see what they get in).





You can filter out the spam so you don't get it in your inbox.
Reply:what ever mail exchange server you are using all of them provide you to automatic removel of spam. and also if you are thinking that they are coming into your inbox then send it to spam which will automatically transfer the forthcomming email from this message to spam and then it automatically deleted for more information on what is spam and how it can be send follow the link
Reply:Your email has been hacked. Change your password and in your address book, make a fake address such as AAbbcc5566@yahoo.com and if some one hacks again, that mail shall return as undeliverable and you will be made aware.





check for virus/spyware on your PC that might be grabbing passwords as you type them. Then, change your password once you know that there is no virus or spyware grabbing it.





If that does not fix it, it is entirely possible that they are not actually sending it from your account. It is very easy to make an email appear to come from any address. If possible, have someone that is receiving this spam from "you" work with their system admin to try to track down the real source of the mail. They can look more closely at it and often find out where it really came from, and contact the service provider to report the abuse
