I keep clicking on empty" to get rid of the "Spam" on my email. It keeps growing. How can I get rid of it?

Why does this keep happening when I consistently click on "empty?"

I keep clicking on empty" to get rid of the "Spam" on my email. It keeps growing. How can I get rid of it?
The only Yahoo email box I have that you "empty" is bulk mail, which IS spam, and is intended ONLY for spam. If you are emptying this box, Hooray for you. The spam is going where it's supposed to.
